Basic components in big baler part1 chassis and driveline

Basic components in big
   baler part1 chassis  and driveline
   1. Chassis

A. Chassis

Main gearbox, stuffer gearbox, flywheel
B. Hitch

Universal hitch for high/low position.
Can be adjusted in height to keep the baler level behind the
tractor.
Slimmer shape allows tighter turns.
Repositionad parking jack for ease of use and prevention of crop catching

2. Driveline
B. PTO
Brand = Bondioli (no longer Waltersheid)
PTO shaft lubrification – 50 hrs.
Less daily maintenance
Re-positioned intermediate bearing = smoother, quiteter, less wear
2. Driveline

C. Main slip and overrun clutch

All balers are fitted with slip clutch, shear bolt and over running clutches for excellent performance
350 mm diameter  slip clutch with massive plate surface area to dissipate heat quickly whilst retaining set torque
Same clutch for all models, but with different torque settings.
2. Driveline
D. Flywheel
Diameter = 720 mm
Weight = 234 kg
Reduces horse power requirement and peak loads
modified flywheel with improved sealing = no water ingress into flywheel bearings
Runs on 2 tapered roller bearings
Runs on tapered roller bearings for maximum reliability and minimum maintenance
• The flywheel brake is used to prevent the flywheel from turning when:
  • Transporting the baler
  • The shear bolt breaks
  • The operator is working on or inside the machine
• A flywheel brake switch monitors the position of the flywheel brake handle and informs the operator via the monitor should it be inadvertently left engaged when baling recommences

2. Driveline

E. Main Gearbox

Input :
-PTO-
Output :
-Crank arms (plunger)
  + needle protection
- LHS
  to stuffer gearbox
- RHS
  to rotor/packer
  to pickup

Gearbox changed - input axle is under a steeper angle which results in a straighter drive line.
PTO and gearbox inline to avoid vibrations and extended lifetime
• Glass sight gauge for fast and simple checking of oil level
2. Driveline

Can be used to change timing by repositioning halfshaft on splines.. (LHS halfshaft).
LHS halfshaft provides the drive of the stuffer gearbox
RHS halfshaft provides the drive of the packer/rotor and the pickup.
The needle protection is directly linked to the conrods of the plunjer so there is always synchronisation between plunjer and needles if the knotter shearbolt breaks.
2. Driveline
G. Load sensing pin
As the plunger compresses the wad in the bale, a load sensing pin measures the resistance
Monitor compares this signal to the preset density
Result : increased or decreased hydraulic pressure to maintain equal density.
Measuring force :
BB9050 & BB9060 : 60 kN   - new holland
  BB9070 & BB9080 : 90 kN
  Indicated on the sensor
